| Light+Building programme focuses on innovation At Light+Building, the world's leading trade fair for architecture and technology, the industry will be presenting new products, many on show for the first time in the world, trends and pioneering solutions for lighting, electrical engineering and house and building automation. From 11 to 16 April 2010, visitors to the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre will witness the world's largest forum for innovations in architecture and integrated building services engineering. Alongside an extensive range of products, there will be a varied complementary programme, which goes into more detail on the issues raised in all the product groups. This includes first-time events such as the newly conceived award, Design Plus – powered by Light+Building, special shows such as the Trend Forum with trends for 2010/2011 in the home, the Building Performance Congress and the biennale of lighting-culture, Luminale. Light+Building will be celebrating the début of the newly created competition, Design Plus – powered by Light+Building. This award will combine the Design Plus and Lights of the Future awards which have hitherto been organised at this leading world trade fair. A panel of experts will judge the submissions from exhibitors in all product areas according to criteria given by technology, ecology and design as well as in terms of their overall conception and practical usefulness. Imparting knowledge and exchanging information are central features of the Building Performance Congress from 12 to 16 April 2010. In their lectures, well-known experts from within Germany and from elsewhere in the world will be explaining current developments in lighting, electrical engineering and house and building automation. The congress is divided into the following events: Light Focus, Energy Focus – German Energy Consultants' Day, IEECB Focus – Improving Energy Efficiency in Commercial Buildings, together with the Building Forum, the Future Real Estate Forum and the ACS Forum. The international lighting conference, Light Focus, from 12 to 14 April 2010 is organised by the Professional Lighting Designers' Association (PLDA) under the auspices of the professional association for lighting in the Central Association for the German Electrical and Electronics Industry (Zentralverband Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie- ZVEI). The strapline for the lecture programme is "Design and Technology". The programme, which revolves on a daily basis, includes the topics: "Daylight", "Energy Efficiency" and "Health and Light". The Building Forum and the one-day Future Real Estate Forum will be held from 12 to 16 April 2010 at the stand of the Federation of German Machine and Plant Manufacturers (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau VDMA). The Energy Focus – German Energy Consultants' Day on 14 April 2010 is aimed at architects and engineers right across Germany, who act as energy consultants. Under the title ACS Forum, from 14 to 16 April, the Chamber of Architects and Town Planners of the State of Hesse will present an extensive seminar programme in parallel to the dedicated ACS exhibition, Computers in the Building Industry. On one of the days, the Central Association of the German Electrical and Information Technology Industry (Zentralverband der Deutschen Elektro- und Informationstechnischen Handwerke - ZVEH), will collaborate in arranging the programme. A particular attraction for architects, interior architects and designers, as well as for specialist wholesalers and retailers is the Trend Forum, which will be presenting the trends in home décor for 2010/11 exclusively for the world's leading trade fair. In 2010, for the first time, there will be a meeting place for architects, designers and engineers in a dedicated and specially equipped lounge. The Outlook Lounge offers the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences in a pleasant atmosphere, to get into conversation with colleagues, or just to relax a little with a free drink or snack. Treffpunkt Zukunft (Meet the Future), a Messe Frankfurt initiative, is all about new blood and fostering young talent. School and university students can get an overview of the sector and its innovations. Universities with an interest in architecture, lighting design, building services engineering and building services technology will be presenting their current projects and giving out information on various training programmes. A further highlight, in the literal sense of the word, is Luminale. The lighting-culture biennale is an event, which begins in the evening as Light+Building closes. In 2010 architects, designers, media designers, artists and university departments will be presenting 100 fascinating lighting projects. A key feature will be an emphasis on light and music. Messe Frankfurt brought Luminale into being in 2002, with the aim of making the public at large more aware of light and lighting and of taking the trade-fair themes of lighting, design and architecture out into the town. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Construction News :: home page |
