| Charlotte to host top event for the American coatings industry The American Coatings Show & Conference 2008 exceeded all expectations for the trade show premiere with 331 exhibitors, some 5,600 trade visitors and 750 conference attendees. This show is the top event for the American paint and coatings industry, and the next show will take place from Tuesday, April 13, through Thursday, April 15, 2010, at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, N.C. The conference will begin the day before, running from Monday, April 12, through Wednesday, April 14, 2010. And even at this early date, the show has already delivered another positive surprise. Andy Doyle, President of the National Paint & Coatings Association / Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology (NPCA / FSCT), looks to the future with confidence: "I am increasingly optimistic about the performance of the coatings industry in 2010. After a significant downturn in 2009, our data indicate that overall volume should increase by 2-3 % in 2010. Manufacturing and housing sales have shown recent sustained improvements. In addition, by focusing on cost control in 2009, the industry has positioned itself for increasingly positive returns when volumes begin their climb toward pre-recession levels. This is a very resilient industry and, as such, I believe 2010 will prove to be a successful year." write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Construction News :: home page |
