| New National Crane on display at Navistar’s Icuee booth National Crane's new 45 USt capacity boom truck – the NBT 45 – was mounted on an International 7600 truck and displayed at the International Construction and Utility Equipment Expo in Louisville, Ky. National Crane units can be mounted on many different carrier types. This is particularly helpful in controlling spare parts and maintenance costs if a company already has boom trucks mounted on certain trucks in its fleet. The NBT 45, which features National Crane line's new nomenclature and color scheme, features a 142 ft, five-section boom, which is the longest in its size range. When equipped with a 55 ft boom extension, the combination will provide a lifting tip height of 204 ft and a basket working height of over 210 ft. Brian Peretin, vice president of sales and marketing for National Crane, said the boom length contributes to productivity in the field. "The long boom allows the operator to perform more lifts without using the jib," he said. "This means reduced setup time and ultimately improved efficiency." Shorter boom lengths – 103 ft and 127 ft – are also available for this crane. All of the boom sections are supported by one hydraulic extend cylinder, which minimizes maintenance. A number of features on this crane are designed to provide smooth crane operation. Easy Glide boom wear pads reduce the conditions that cause boom chatter and vibration. And a new state of the art control valve provides smoother operation. This new valve design also eliminates parts, reducing repair costs and improving serviceability. The NBT 45 has a deluxe operator's cab made from a rigid galvanized steel structure, which is well-insulated and features tinted safety glass for operator visibility and comfort. All National Crane boom trucks are equipped with overload protection. A load moment indicator is standard on all cranes in this series. The LCD display is visible in full or low light and displays all crane load lifting values simultaneously. The NBT 45 is one of three cranes in National's new NBT 40 Series. The other cranes in the series are the 36 USt NBT 36 and the 40 USt NBT 40. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Construction News :: home page |
