| Torre Picasso supports Madrid 2016 Olympic bid The Madrid 2016 logo was projected on the main façade of Torre Picasso in support of the city's bid to host the 2016 Olympic Games. The logo was projected on the façade that faces Paseo de la Castellana, occupying an area of approximately 1,600 m² using two 25,000-lumen projectors located on a nearby building. Spanish construction company FCC, which owns Torre Picasso, is a preferred sponsor of the Madrid 2016 bid. The shortlist for hosting the 2016 Olympic Games includes Madrid, Chicago, Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro. The International Olympic Committee (ICO) will make its decision on Friday in Copenhagen. Standing 157 metres tall, with 43 stories, Torre Picasso has been a landmark of modern Madrid since its inauguration in 1989. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Construction News :: home page |
