| Kone wins contract for the Rome Metro Finnish elevator and escalator manufacturer Kone has won a contract from Met.Ro Rome for the maintenance of all units (escalators, autowalks, elevators and stair lifts) installed in the Rome underground lines. The three-year contract is worth over 12 million euros, including modernization activities which account for more than half of the amount. The modernization order was booked in the second quarter of 2009. Met.Ro., Metropolitana di Roma S.p.A., manages the public transportation service of lines A and B of the Roman underground and of the regional railways (ex concession) Roma-Lido (Ostia), Roma-Giardinetti and Roma-Viterbo.
