| Impregilo to build hydraulic tunnel in Abu Dhabi Impregilo, Italy's biggest builder by market value, is to build the first 15 km lot of an hydraulic tunnel in Abu Dhabi. The order is worth approximately 243 million dollars. Complex state-of-the-art excavation technologies to be used for the first time in Abu Dhabi. Impregilo has won the international tender organised by the "Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company" (ADSSC) to build the first of the three lots of the Strategic Tunnel Enhancement Programme (STEP) for construction of a 40 km gravity tunnel to collect waste water on the Abu Dhabi island and mainland and convey it to the treatment plant in Al Wathba. The new project, worth approximately 243 million dollars, is for construction of the first 15 kilometres of the tunnel, with an excavated diameter of 6.3 metres, and six access shafts to depths of between 40 and 50 metres.
