Atkins extends contract with Environment Agency

UK-based architecture and engineering firm Atkins has been awarded a two-year extension to the framework contract under which it supports the Environment Agency's national flood and coastal risk management and water resources capital works programmes.

One of the largest consultancy frameworks in the public sector at £50 million per annum, the Agency's National Engineering and Environmental Consultancy Agreement (NEECA) with its six consultants has been extended to October 2011. Over this time Atkins will continue to deliver value for money and intelligent solutions in the sustainable design and programme management of schemes to mitigate the effects of flooding and coastal erosion and ensure water resources are managed to cope with climate change.
