Aecom reports 22% growth in EPS for 3Q of FY 2009

Los Angeles-based engineering firm Aecom Technology Corp announced today its financial results for the third quarter of fiscal year 2009, which ended June 30, 2009.

Aecom reported net income from continuing operations of $50 million for the third quarter, or diluted earnings per share (EPS) of 45 cents. These results represent an increase of 30% over net income from continuing operations of $38 million – and an increase of 22% over diluted EPS of 37 cents – for the same period last year. For the first nine months of fiscal year 2009, AECOM reported net income from continuing operations of $133 million and operating income of $212 million, an increase of 28% and 26%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

Third-quarter revenue increased to $1.5 billion, 16% higher than the third quarter of fiscal year 2008. Aecom's third-quarter revenue, net of other direct costs, increased 13% compared to the same period last year, to $1.0 billion. For the first nine months of fiscal year 2009, AECOM reported revenue of $4.5 billion and revenue, net of other direct costs of $2.8 billion, an increase of 25% and 24%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
