| Saipem reports six months financial results Italian oil services Saipem said adjusted net profit for the first half of 2009 amounted to Euro 374 million, up 16.5% compared to the first half of 2008. Adjusted net profit for the second quarter of 2009 amounted to Euro 188 million, up 8% compared to the second quarter of 2008. New contracts won during the first half of 2009 amounted to Euro 5,068 million. The backlog at June 30, 2009 stood at Euro 19, 015 million.
