Vinci wins contract for four Paris Rive Gauche campus buildings

The University of Paris Diderot-Paris 7 has awarded a 30-year partnership contract to the UNICITE consortium made up of Vinci Construction France subsidiaries, GDF-Suez (Cofely), Barclays Private Equity and FIDEPPP (Caisses d'Epargne). The contract covers financing, design, construction and maintenance of four new buildings at the university's new Paris Rive Gauche campus in the city's 13th arrondissement.

The total value of the partnership contract is €273 million, of which €108 million for the design and construction of buildings with a combined surface area of 44, 600 sq. metres.

The works, which are scheduled to take 33 months to complete, will be carried out by Vinci Construction France subsidiaries GTM Bâtiment and Sicra.

At the start of the 2012 school year, these new buildings will accommodate over 10,000 students, faculty, research workers and administrative and technical staff.
