Strabag awarded two airport contracts in Oman

Strabag Oman has been awarded the tender for the first phase of construction of Oman's new Sohar Airport in a deal that is worth € 69 million. The contract comprises planning and preparation as well as the construction of access roads. Work is to begin soon and is expected to last 14 months.

Sohar Airport is one of six regional airports being built by order of Oman's transport ministry. The airport, located 10 km northwest of the city of Sohar, will be built in three phases. Strabag Oman has been awarded the contract for the first phase of construction and will submit a bid for the second phase as well. A time frame for the second phase has not yet been announced.

Strabag Oman has also won the contract for Adam Airport, situated about 30 km outside of the city of Adam. This contract in a deal that is worth € 6.7 million, involves a follow-up order for airport expansion. The order comprises a 4 km runway with parking, a high-water dam and fencing.
