| OHL Concessions builds highway in Peru Spanish construction firm OHL's concessions division, OHL Concesiones, has been awarded the first highway in Peru: The Road Network 4 belongs to the North Pan-American Highway and runs along the coast of Peru. The road network is 323 km long and includes the North Pan-American stretch located between the Northern locations of Pativilca and the diversion to Salaverry, in the city of Trujillo. The time period of the concession is of 25 years. OHL Concessions won the tender after offering the construction of 113,42 km of secondary carriageway (besides the 170 km established) and compromised to additionally build eight roundabouts, twenty pedestrian overpasses, ten links at different levels for vehicles and three beltways in the cities of Huarmey, Casma and Viru-Chao. The other three competitor consortiums didn't include the construction of the beltways of Casma and Viru-Chao in their final offer. With said enlargement and improvement works, which end by 2013, the road network 4 will be converted in a double carriageway highway with two lanes for each carriageway. By the beginning of 2010, when the works are completed, a new toll barrier will be added to the remaining three in this stretch. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Construction News :: home page |
