| ThyssenKrupp Elevator to supply elevators for Deutsche Börse ThyssenKrupp Elevator has won a contract to supply 15 passenger elevators for the new headquarters building of Deutsche Börse in Eschborn (Germany). The 24-story, almost cube-shaped building with a total floor space of 53,000 square meters will include offices, meeting rooms and numerous conference halls. At the center of the 92-meter-high cube is a glass atrium rising from ground level to the top floor. Twelve elevators from ThyssenKrupp Elevator will be installed around this central building element – four of them in glass panoramic design. Further systems will be installed in the kitchen area and in the adjacent parking garage, which offers space for around 320 cars. In keeping with the ecological design of the building, most of the elevators will be fitted with regenerative drives. Energy generated when braking the cabs is converted into electricity and fed back to the power supply system. This lowers energy consumption by more than 30 percent compared with conventional designs and thus also reduces CO2 emissions. In addition, some of the elevator cabs will be fitted with energy-efficient LED lighting. Compared with conventional light bulbs, LED lights use up to 90 percent less energy and last considerably longer.
