| France's Colas to build Cairo subway line Two years after winning the contract for the first phase of Line 3 on the Cairo, Egypt Metro project, Colas Rail, the Colas Group railway specialist, has just signed on to build the second phase of this new subway line, in a consortium with Alstom Transport and Thalès Transportation Systems and in association with Arab Contractors and Orascom. The entire project includes 7 km of rail line in a tunnel and 4 underground stations; Colas Rail's consortium will be in charge of fitting the section with electromechanical equipment and energy. Colas Rail's share of the contract value totals 33 million euros.
