Strabag, H S Energieanlagen awarded order worth € 42 million

Linz Strom GmbH has awarded lot 1 of a contract to build the Reststoffheizkraftwerk (RHKW) Linz (Waste to Energy Heat and Power Plant ETW CHP Linz) to a consortium consisting of Strabag AG, Vienna, and "h s Energieanlagen GmbH & Co KG", Vienna. The order involves the delivery of a fluidised bed steam generator and ancillary equipment and is worth € 42 million.

The plant will have a combustion capacity of 66 MW and will thermally treat waste of high caloric value, household waste, and dewatered sewage sludge and debris from the Wastewater Treatment Plant Asten. The Waste to Energy Heat and Power Plant will generate heat and electrical energy for the grids of Linz AG. Operations are planned to start in the third quarter of 2011.
