| Aker Solutions sets up geo business in Australia Aker Solutions is expanding its subsea and subsurface service offering in Australia by establishing its geo business in the country. The move is part of Aker Solutions' strategy to function as a lifecycle partner, throughout the lifetime of subsea oilfields, for oil companies operating in and offshore Australia. This approach is strengthened through the establishment of the geo business, which is a subsurface consultancy that delivers services throughout the entire subsea value chain - from exploration to production. Aker Solutions' geo business comprises of geophysicists, geologists, petrophysicists and reservoir engineers. Its main fields of activity are geological and geophysical interpretation, petrophysics, reservoir modelling and simulation, wellsite geology and operations. The set-up in Australia will initially be small, but with ambitious growth plans. The geo unit will operate out of Aker Solutions' subsea operations base and regional head office, located near Perth International Airport, Western Australia.
