Interlocking brick for LEED certified green homes

Aeonian Brick Homes announced that construction of the first home utilizing their new home building system which should be completed by the end of summer, 2009. Aeonian is building a single family home using its exclusive waterproof, interlocking brick that can withstand winds up to 240 miles per hour. The bricks in these homes will not burn or crack and will not support the growth of mold and mildew. This home will be termite and insect- proof, and has 15 times more insulating value than concrete blocks, which should reduce home heating and cooling cost by 50%.

Don Blalock, Founder of Aeonian Brick Homes, has been involved in the research and development of this new brick for the past six years. The bricks will be sold to homebuilders and contractors throughout the United States as part of a complete home building system, which will include a new roofing system, with the same advantages as the walls.

Brick production began on May 14, 2009 in the company's Summerville, SC factory. The company has purchased a lot in The Ponds, a community located in historical Summerville to build the first home using this revolutionary home building system.
