| Italy's Impregilo reports 1Q net profit up 43 % Italy's biggest construction firm Impregilo said its aggregate net sales for the first quarter of 2009 totalled 724.6 million euro, an improvement of 24.6% from the year-earlier period (581.5 million euro). Consolidated operating profit (EBIT) for the first quarter was 50.3 million euro (48.6 million euro in the first quarter of 2008), with an overall Return on Sales of 6.9% (8.4%). The result reflected positive contributions from Construction for 42.7 million euro (RoS of 9.8%) and Concessions for 15.9 million euro (RoS of 48.5%). Consolidated net profit for the period was 29.6 million euro (20.7 million euro in the year-earlier first quarter).
