Hochtief subsidiaries secure new contracts in the USA

Hochtief's US subsidiaries Flatiron and Turner have secured design-build and construction contracts in the USA worth a total of EUR 169.1 million. In Utah, Flatiron will manage a joint venture contracted to widen Route 92 south of Salt Lake City. The company holds a 60 percent share of the contract, which has a volume of EUR 60 million (USD 80 million). Design work will begin in May, followed by construction. The project is expected to be completed by spring 2011. In California, Flatiron is constructing a new segment of Route 52 in Santee, approximately 32 kilometers from San Diego. The contract, which has a value of EUR 21 million (USD 28 million), is due to be completed in October 2010. In addition, the Hochtief subsidiary has gained contracts worth a total of around EUR 20 million for bridge construction projects in California and Colorado.

Via its subsidiary Tompkins, Turner won a new contract in Virginia: The company will manage construction of the new Training and Doctrine Command Headquarters for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Ft. Eustis. The contract comprises construction of an almost 25,000-square-meter army headquarters and a nearly 1,700-square-meter adjoining building. The project is being designed and built to achieve LEED Silver Certification from the United States Green Building Council and will be completed in 2011. The contract volume totals EUR 68.1 million (USD 90 million).
