| Volvo appoints Steelwrist as its preferred supplier of tiltrotators Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has appointed Swedish manufacturer Steelwrist AB as its preferred supplier of tiltrotators in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. Tiltrotators act as a 'wrist' between the arm and bucket of the excavator, allowing operators much greater bucket maneuverability and dexterity than when compared to excavators fitted with fixed bucket or quick couplers. The Nordic region has been the most enthusiastic adopter of this concept since it was first introduced in the 1980s – today as much as 90% of all excavators in these countries (between 3 and 25 tonnes) are fitted with tiltrotators.
