| Stone+tec promises support for young, innovative companies At Stone+tec Nürnberg 2009, which takes place in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 20-23 May 2009, young entrepreneurs show how to counteract the worldwide mood of crisis: with lots of pep and fresh ideas, which will also benefit visitors to the International Trade Fair Natural Stone and Stoneprocessing Technology. The German Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) has supported the participation of young, innovative companies at selected leading international exhibitions, including Stone+tec Nürnberg, since 2007. The programme is intended to strengthen export business and thus the location Germany. Five companies on a total area of 140 m² made use of this support at the last Stone+tec in 2007. As many as 20 exhibitors present their products in two pavilions in 2009: on 430 m² in a central location for the natural stone/gravestones segment and on some 300 m² for the technology segment. This means the number of exhibitors has quadrupled and the display area has even grown more than fivefold. The products offered by the exhibitors in the two pavilions include the "digital gravestone", a gravestone with an integrated screen on which pictures or even films of the deceased can be shown, thin stone panels of partly back-lit stone and facings of thin stone, or an innovative jointing chisel for professionally working old and dummy joints, including a self-sharpening function. To be eligible for support, companies must present new product and process developments, have their headquarters and business operations in the Federal Republic of Germany, meet the currently valid EU definition of a small company and be younger than 10 years. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Construction News :: home page |
