| World's fastest elevators for China's tallest skyscraper German elevator manufacturer ThyssenKrupp has installed the world's fastest double-deck systems in the 492 meter Shanghai World Financial Center in China. After three years of planning, production and installation, ThyssenKrupp Elevator has created a particularly fast method of passenger transportation in the Shanghai World Financial Center, the tallest building in China and currently the third-highest building in the world. The four double-deck elevators each comprise two cabs attached one on top of the other, each with a capacity of 2,000 kilos, and serve a sky lobby at a height of 240 meters. Visitors can now get there at record speed: traveling at a top speed of ten meters per second (36 km/h), the systems in the new Shanghai World Financial Center are the fastest double-deck elevators in the world. In addition to the four double-deck elevators ThyssenKrupp Elevator has manufactured and installed a further 40 systems for the 492-meter-tall, 101-floor Shanghai World Financial Center. Numerous passenger and service elevators between the 79th and 93rd floors guarantee fast, safe and comfortable transportation in "the world's highest hotel". There are further ThyssenKrupp Elevator systems in the parking garages, the shop and restaurant areas, and in the forum, which offers a variety of conference and VIP rooms as well as an 800 square meter event hall. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Construction News :: home page |
