| Especially for tilers: program offered by Stone+tec Stone+tec Nürnberg, which takes place in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 20-23 May 2009, has also become increasingly attractive over the past years for tilers wanting to offer their customers a comprehensive professional service for the high-quality material natural stone. Besides the successful seminars that now accompany the exhibition for the fourth time, this year's new Meeting-Point for tilers offers an information centre for the industry at the heart of exhibition activities. As many as 9 per cent of all Stone+tec-visitors in 2007 were tilers, so the Bayerische BauAkademie (Bavarian Building Academy) and the Landesverband Bayerischer Bauinnungen, Landesfachgruppe Fliesen und Naturstein (Tiles and Natural Stone Group of the Bavarian Building Guilds), have decided to be present for the first time with a joint stand at Stone+tec 2009. Stone+tec Nürnberg has offered tiling experts a seminar series examining the special requirements for handling natural stone tiles since 2003. This year's seminar focuses on the following three topics this time: * Layout and dimensions of joints in high-quality, large-size natural stone coverings: The presentation deals with the potential conflict of the layout and negation of joints in natural stone coverings that results from the varying interests of planners and contractors, and provides information on standards and the possibilities of reaching a consensus with innovative types of design and laying methods. * Natural stone – cases of damage in laying and how to avoid them: Chinese granite, limestone and Brazilian slate are popular kinds of natural stone. If the elementary material properties are ignored when laying the stone, discoloration, deformation or bulging of the slabs can result. The presentation provides the basic principles for preventing expensive damage occurring when laying natural stone. * Laying natural stone on screeds: This presentation deals with the different screed designs and screed binders and the special features relating to the natural stone covering. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Construction News :: home page |
