| Aecom wins contract for highway project in Florida L.A.-based architecture and engineering services company Aecom Technology Corp announced that it has been awarded a $70-million, five-year contract by Dragados USA for design and construction services to upgrade Florida's I-595 highway. The $1.25-billion I-595 project is being financed through a public-private partnership (P3) between the Florida Department of Transportation and I-595 Express, a consortium led by ACS Infrastructure Development. Dragados USA, the design-build contractor, will lead the construction effort with Aecom as its design partner. As the prime consultant on the project, Aecom will provide roadway design, structures, drainage design, utility design, lighting, signals, intelligent-transportation systems for civil works, landscaping, environmental permitting, surveys and geotechnical services. Construction is expected to begin during spring 2009. P3 ventures are based on a long-term agreement between a government entity and one or more private-sector companies, with the private sector assuming responsibility to design, build, finance and operate the project during the life of the agreement. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Construction News :: home page |
