| Impregilo reports financial results for 2008 Italian construction firm Impregilo closed financial year 2008 with positive earnings figures, at both operating and net profit levels. Aggregate net sales totalled 2,957.6 million euro, up by approximately 12.6% from the previous year (2,626.9 million euro). Operating profit (EBIT) was positive at 189.1 million euro (131.2 million euro in 2007) with an overall Return on Sales (RoS) of 6.4%. Financial operations and equity investments generated a net loss of 4.6 million euro in 2008, against a net gain of 3.4 million euro in the previous year. Specifically, equity investments included a capital gain of 67.5 million euro on the sale of the Brazilian associate Ponte de Pedra S.A.. Profit from discontinued operations was 35.6 million euro (a loss of 30.8 million euro in 2007). Net profit for the year was 167.6 million euro (40.8 million euro in 2007).
