Acciona and ACS take awards for Canada’s A-30 highway project

Spain's ACS and Acciona have been acknowledged with two of the concessions industry's most important awards for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of Canada's A-30 Châteauguay-Vaudreil-Dorion highway, a future major road within the Montreal (Quebec) metropolitan area. The Spanish concession consortium, Nouvelle Autoroute 30, made up in equal parts by Iridium (the concessions arm of ACS Group) and Acciona, took the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships' (CCPPP) annual Gold Award, in the Council's National Awards for Innovation and Excellence in Public-Private Partnerships (PPP). The CCPPP is a sector-wide reference organization in Canada.

The concessions consortium also took the North America Deal of the Year Award for the year's best PPP finance operation in the sector, awarded by PFI, a prestigious project finance industry publication. ACS and Acciona recently entered into an agreement with Quebec's Ministry of Transport for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the A-30 Châteauguay-Vaudreil-Dorion highway, a future major road in Quebec. One-and-a-half billion Canadian dollars (approximately one billion euro) have been invested in the project and the concession will run for 35 years. The 42km length of highway, with two lanes in each direction, will be built by Acciona Infrastructure (42%), Dragados (42%) and DJL (16%).
