The largest pellets heating system in Germany

In Germany, one of the municipal housing companies is a permanently typical good example of an economical usage of energies. In Remscheid (Federal Republic Nordrhein-Westfalen) there is the largest pellets heating system that ever was constructed within the residential building industry in the Middle Europe. GEWAG housing incorporated company replaced the oilbased heating system from 1970th years by pellets heating boiler HPKI-K 2.000 - product of GILLES company.

The new effective heating boiler is able to deliver 2 MW energy output for heating 60.000 m2 of dwelling and industrial areas. It means that this system will supply 590 housing units, 52 private flats, 17 private houses and 9 industrial units with the heat energy.

Naturally, the installation of a pellets heating plant of such dimensions means also for GILLES company a milestone in penetrating to the areas of such a residential density. "We, as the Gilles company's supply partner, we are also very glad to dispose with such a good reference directly on site, as the plant of this capacity installed in West Germany is. We envisage also some other interesting consecutive propositions", expressed his enthusiasm Mr. Christoph Scherwing who managed this project as the GILLES local trade partner.

Due to passing from the furnace oil to biomass, the housing company is expecting the decrease in costs of heating by 190.000 EURS per year. In addition, the reduction of the CO2 emissions harmful to environment is of the same importance at least. In word and deed: the environment is spared 2.150.000 kg of carbon dioxide per year.

Accordingly, the large-scale project realised in Remscheid may serve as the perfect recommendation for a permanent and future-oriented solution of the energy production problems.
