| Balfour Beatty names COO UK constructor and engineering firm Balfour Beatty announced the appointment of Andrew McNaughton to the new role of Chief Operating Officer and to the Board of Balfour Beatty plc. The appointment, as Balfour Beatty continues to grow successfully in both size and scope, will further strengthen the Group senior management structure. In his role as Chief Operating Officer, Andrew McNaughton will oversee Balfour Beatty's construction and engineering activities in the UK, the Gulf Region, South-East Asia and the Group's worldwide rail business. Andrew McNaughton, who is 44, is a Chartered Civil Engineer, a member of the Institute of Civil Engineering and a board member of the Major Projects Association. He joined Balfour Beatty in 1997 and has undertaken a series of increasingly senior roles, most recently as Group Managing Director with responsibility for the civil engineering activities of the Group in the UK and the Middle East.
