| Hitachi's new 18V driver drill, the first in Compact Pro Series Hitachi Power Tools announced the DS18DSAL, the first in Hitachi's Compact Pro Series of cordless tools. This impressive driver drill is powered by a long-lasting 1.5Ah Lithium Ion slide battery to deliver a class-leading 460 in/lbs of torque - the ideal tool for anyone seeking professional power in the most compact, lightweight, and ergonomically designed body on the market. Compact at only 7.7" in length and lightweight at 3.5 lbs, the DS18DSAL is comfortable and convenient to use all day without sacrificing the power and performance of a pro-grade 18-volt tool. A variable speed trigger sets the DS18DSAL from 0 to 350RPM or 0 to 1,500RPM to always reach the right speed for the job. The clutch has twenty-two driving stages and a special mode for drilling making this the tool for both high torque applications and precision driving. With unmatched torque in its class, the DS18DSAL powers through the toughest jobs. Designed without the vertical cell chamber of a post-style battery, the new slide battery glides easily into place and allows the DS18DSAL to have the most ergonomically shaped handle yet. At half the weight of NiCd or NiMH batteries, this battery combined with the balanced tool body minimizes user fatigue and maximizes control and accuracy. As with all of Hitachi's Lithium Ion technologies, the DS18DSAL receives a steady stream of power for the duration of every battery charge, from the moment the trigger is pulled until the charge cycle is exhausted. And with up to three times the number of charge cycles of traditional batteries, the user is saved costly replacements. A metal belt hook keeps the driver drill conveniently in reach at all times and an LED job light illuminates the work surface for accurate bit alignment in dim environments. The keyless ½" ratcheting metal chuck accepts a wide variety of bits that can be changed quickly and conveniently. External access to the carbon brushes allows the user to easily and economically replace the brushes when they are worn, lengthening the lifespan of the tool. As a bonus, the DS18DSAL comes with Hitachi's UB18DAL Lithium Ion flashlight. Adjustable to five lighting positions, this flashlight can be aimed accurately and stand alone while you work. A shoulder carrying strap and low battery indicator light are useful features also included in the UB18DAL. Because it runs on the same 18-volt slide batteries as the driver drill, the flashlight shares the same Lithium Ion benefits of long battery life, lasting power per charge and lightweight convenience. The DS18DSAL comes with Hitachi's industry leading 5-year warranty, bonus UB18DAL 18-volt flashlight, two 1.5Ah Lithium Ion slide batteries, a quick charger, dual-tipped Phillips driver bit, and sturdy carrying case. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Construction News :: home page |
