| Zumtobel opens a new Light Centre in Prague The Zumtobel brand, which belongs to the Austrian lighting equipment maker Zumtobel Group, recently opened a new Light Centre in Prague in the Czech Republic. The new Light Centre in the Czech capital is situated close to the old city centre and with over 500 square metres offers plenty of space to showcase the professional lighting capabilities of the Zumtobel brand. At the official opening ceremony attended by over 100 guests, the renowned architect and artist Hani Rashid spoke on the subject of light and its effects, as well as some of his current projects. In Eastern Europe, Zumtobel maintains a strong presence through its own sales offices in the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovenia, Hungary and Croatia. The markets in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro are served by the Zagreb office in Croatia. In 2006, Zumtobel opened its own production facility in Curtici, Romania. In addition, since 2007 the brand has also operated a Light Centre in Ljubljana, Slovenia. In the past, Zumtobel has pursued a policy of minor acquisitions of existing sales partners across Eastern Europe, in order to better exploit the potential of these growing markets. In the Czech Republic the brand acquired the Elios Lighting sales company in 2004. Since then, prestigious projects worth millions of euros have been realised, including Tomase Bata University in Zlin, several Globus supermarkets and the headquarters of the leading energy utility company CEZ. In all, Zumtobel employs more than 70 sales staff in Central and Eastern European countries. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Construction News :: home page |
