| Modernisation of the railway line in Poland Pöyry has been awarded an engineering contract for a feasibility study for the C-E 65 railway line in Poland by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. The value of the assignment is EUR 2.9 million. The railway line C-E 65 Tczew - Pszczyna, with a length of 573 km, is an important part of the European Transportation Corridor (TEN-Corridor) No. VI, - from Gdynia in Poland to Brno in the Czech Republic and Zilliny in the Slovakian Republic. The modernisation of this railway line will increase the travel speed for passenger traffic to 160 km/h, partly to 200 km/h, and for freight traffic to 120 km/h, and will significantly shorten the travel time on this important transportation corridor. The scope of this feasibility study includes the environment issues, economics, traffic, financing as well as all technical aspects. The duration of this project will be 600 days. This assignment is an important step in continuing the successful growth of Pöyry's transportation operation in Poland, where Pöyry has been active for more than 10 years. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Construction News :: home page |
