Energy-efficient GE LED Cove Lighting System

The reality of continuously running architectural cove lighting in casinos, hotels, resorts and commercial retail settings, and extended operation in residential applications, no longer runs up wasteful spending on energy or maintenance. Designed to perform for more than 50,000 hours (5.7 years of continuous operation), the new GE LED Cove Lighting System from GE Consumer & Industrial&mdash the first GE LED system marketed through GE's electrical distributor sales channel&mdash combines the energy efficiency and long life of GE-quality LED technology to significantly lower system operating costs for commercial and residential end-users wanting to curb their impact on the environment.

At 25 times the life of halogen, the GE LED Cove Lighting System provides 280 useable lumens per foot and consumes just 6.5 watts of energy, providing significant energy savings - a 78 percent reduction versus a 30 watts-per-foot halogen system - and superior brightness. "End-user, specifier and distributor customers have come to rely on GE for its innovation and technology leadership," says Norm Sowards, general manager of commercial and industrial marketing, GE Consumer & Industrial. "Our new GE LED Cove Lighting System is emblematic of GE's innovative strides in white LEDs and our strategy to give customers an increasing number of environmentally responsible, energy-efficient general lighting solutions."

In addition to curbing the end-user's impact on the environment compared with halogen technology, the GE LED Cove Lighting System eliminates light-quality inconsistencies such as dimmed or burned out lamps (LED systems don't burn out), and incorrect color temperatures or differing brightness levels in replacement lamps. The system features a 120-degree uniform beam pattern that produces a bright and even warm-white light that eliminates socket shadows. In addition, the system can be dimmed when connected to an electronic low-voltage (ELV) reverse phase control dimmer. The consistency and control enabled by the GE LED Cove Lighting System can positively impact a company or brand's image.

GE's unique LED system design reduces the hassle and expense of labor, material and disposal costs associated with traditional lamp replacement. The robust GE LED Cove Lighting System contains no lead, mercury or glass and is RoHS compliant.

The GE LED Cove Lighting System offers easy-to-use mounting tracks and fewer system components for quick and simple assembly on-site. The one-foot LED fixture lengths provide better lighting around curves and corners, and jumper cables make it easy to work around angles. The low-voltage, Class II power supply is integrated in each fixture to enable long runs of up to 200 feet per 120V power input.
