| Acciona increases EBITDA by 180% Spanish construction group Acciona ended the first half of 2008 with 1.349 billion euro in EBITDA, 180% more than in the same period of 2007. The increase was due primarily to proportionate consolidation of its 25.01% stake in power group Endesa, which contributed 868 million euro (64.3% of the total), and the strong performance of Acciona Energy, which contributed 302 million euro (22.3% of the total). The electricity business overall contributed 86.8% of EBITDA. Revenues in the first six months of the year totalled 6.028 billion euro, up 83.9% on 1H07, primarily due to the proportionate consolidation of its 25.01% stake in Endesa (which provided 2.709 billion euro) and the good performance of Acciona Energy, which registered a 73.2% increase in sales. Attributable net profit totalled 314 million euro, while EBIT tripled, from 300 to 918 million euro. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Construction News :: home page |
