| Hochtief Construction secures new orders in Poland Hochtief, Germany's largest builder, has secured seven new contracts for office, industrial and infrastructure projects in Poland. Subsidiary Hochtief Polska is to build three new office complexes in Warsaw, Krakow and Katowice, a complete glass production facility and a timber sheet factory. Furthermore Hochtief Polska is also to extend a refinery and modernize and extend a sewage treatment facility. The contracts have a total volume of over EUR 180 million. The biggest single new order, worth more than EUR 57 million, is for the construction of a production facility for glass manufacturer Euroglas Polska. A complete glass production plant is to be created on an approximately 52 hectare site in the municipality of Ujazd in southwestern Poland. Work on the project has already begun and is due to be completed by 2009. In Warsaw, Hochtief Polska has been appointed general contractor for the second construction phase of the Flanders Business Park A. This is scheduled to be completed by mid-2009. The business park will then consist of two office buildings: Building B already went into operation in 2000. Also as general contractor, the company is to build the Francuska Office Center in Katowice and the Diamanta Plaza office building in Krakow. Both projects are to be handed over in 2009. For the city of Kielce, Hochtief Polska, as part of a consortium, is modernizing and extending the local sewage treatment plant. The project will probably take until June 2010 to complete. At the Lotos Refinery in Gdansk, the company is general contractor for five industrial buildings which form part of a generously dimensioned expansion program. At Strzelce in the south of Poland, Hochtief Polska has been engaged by the Kronospan Group to erect a new sheet-wood works. The first stage of the project comprises the construction of four production bays.
