Talon architectural area luminaire

Cooper Lighting has introduced the McGraw-Edison Talon, an outdoor area site light offering unmatched optical versatility and performance with premium construction to satisfy every specific exterior lighting need. An innovative optical design includes a choice of 14 high efficiency, field rotatable optical systems including the unrivaled Spill Light Eliminator optic for areas mandating strict light trespass control, and a new Automotive Front Row optic for precisely illuminated automotive front row displays. A proprietary Hi-Low dimming option providing as much as 50% energy savings.

Talon's unique optical options include flat glass or sag, vertical lamp or horizontal, segmented optic or formed. All optics are capable of rotating in 90° increments allowing for manipulation of distribution orientation independent of the fixture position. The segmented reflector family features premium 95% reflective sheet aluminum unobstructed by rivets or other means of attachment, which may cause streaks or striations in light distribution.

Talon's sleek profile thick wall die-cast aluminum housing is available in two sizes. The housing and the channel set silicone gasketing form an impenetrable IP65 barrier optimizing electrical component operation and fixture longevity regardless of environment. Toolless entry provides easy maintenance.

Talon has been designed to meet rigorous regulatory needs including spill control, emergency egress, energy efficiency and curfew compliance. For applications requiring dark sky friendly solutions, Talon offers full cutoff flat glass optical assemblies that provide focused illumination with zero uplight and minimal high angle illumination while retaining superior uniformity. The Spill Light Eliminator optic strictly controls spill light by eliminating light beyond one mounting height behind the pole with no sacrifice in forward illumination. The Talon Hi-Low option enables curfew compliance through an integrated dimming relay internal to the housing that reduces power while closely maintaining critical-to-safety site lighting uniformity levels.
