Acciona develops an eco-efficient office complex in Zaragoza

Acciona Real Estate is developing a new eco-efficient office complex, Oficinas Plaza, in the Zaragoza Logistics Platform, the business hub of Aragon, where more than 300 businesses are located. The offices are equipped with the most advanced technology to reduce environmental impact, providing companies with a privileged location and the opportunity to be environmentally responsible. Oficinas Plaza is comprised of three four-storey buildings (10,700 m²) and two basement parking lots, with offices (80,450 m²) and storage. One of the buildings will be used by Acciona, which has moved its offices to this up-and-coming business hub, another will be used by Grupo Balay, and the third building is still available.

The Zaragoza Logistics Platform (PLAZA) spans 13 million square metres of land, mainly zoned as industrial and logistic, and boasts cutting-edge infrastructure and amenities. The intermodal platform is at the crossroads of the main transport routes in southeast Europe, connecting Bordeaux, Toulouse, Bilbao, Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona. PLAZA is strategically located, and is easily accessible by high-speed rail (AVE), road and air.

The offices were designed in line with eco-efficient energy criteria, and include: more than 120 m² of photovoltaic solar panels, high-performance glazing, low-energy artificial lighting, optimal use of natural light, timed illumination, enhanced insulation in façades to reduce energy consumption in climate control, and low energy electrical equipment, such as inverter air conditioning. These measures will avoid the emission of around 15 tonnes of CO2 per year, equal to the absorption capacity of 1,250 trees.
