Mexico's Cemex expects to see sales growth

Cemex, the world's number-three cement maker, announced that it expects EBITDA for the quarter ending June 30, 2008 to be close to US$1.4 billion, an increase of about 23% versus the same period last year, while operating income is expected to be about US$960 million, 19% higher than the same period a year ago. Sales for the second quarter are expected to be in excess of US$6.4 billion, an increase of about 31% versus the same period last year. For the first six months of the year, Cemex expects EBITDA of about US$2.3 billion, while revenue is expected at close to US$11.8 billion, a growth of 15% and 26%, respectively. These results include the effect of consolidating Rinker starting July 1 2007.
