Costain secures Bell Common Tunnel project

Britain's Costain has been awarded the £90.4 million early contractor involvement (ECI) contract by the Highways Agency to refurbish the Bell Common Tunnel between Junctions 26 and 27 of the M25 near Epping. Work is expected to begin in Autumn 2008 and is due to be completed by December 2009.

The Bell Common Tunnel contract, in addition to the recent commencement of the £36 million A34 Wolvercote Viaduct replacement, helps to bring Costain's total Highways sector awards to more than £250 million in 2008.
