Jacobs wins contract for Intesa Sanpaolo head office building in Turin

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. received a contract from Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A. to provide project and construction management services for a new head office building in Turin, Italy. The Intesa Sanpaolo banking group, which was formed by the merger between Banca Intesa and Sanpaolo IMI, has clear leadership in the Italian market and a strong international presence.

Officials did not disclose the contract value, yet noted the project investment value is approximately 300 million Euros.

The new building, designed by world-famous architect Renzo Piano, will be 167 meters high and comprise 37 floors aboveground and 6 levels underground. A 350-seat auditorium will be hung four stories above ground level. The building is designed to accommodate about 2,500 employees and provide large public spaces at both the top and street levels.

The new building will be the tallest in Turin and one of the tallest buildings in Italy. It will characterize Turin as a rapidly evolving modern town and represent one of the most impressive structures in Europe.
