| Austria´s Strabag SE acquires Swiss StraBAG group Strabag SE, headquartered in Vienna and one of Europe's leading construction companies, has acquired 100 % of the Swiss StraBAG Group, which consists of the construction firms StraBAG Strassenbau und Beton AG, Witta Bau AG and Frey + Götschi AG. Strabag SE, which in Switzerland also owns the construction firms Egolf, Murer and Züblin, wants to use the acquisition to strengthen its market position in the infrastructure construction segment in the Zurich region and build up a nationwide presence in this market in Switzerland. The Swiss StraBAG Group will continue to be led by the current management team. The privately owned Swiss StraBAG Group is a leader in the Zurich region, while Frey + Götschi AG is also active in the neighboring cantons of Aargau and Schwyz. The main business activity is in the areas of road construction, civil engineering and underground construction as well as paving and surfacing.
