| Impregilo posts fall in profit Impregilo, Italy's largest builder, reported net sales in the first quarter of 2008 of 581.5 million euro, a small decrease on the year-earlier period (615.6 million euro). The result reflected the impact of contingent factors relating to a number of major projects in the first three months, on which production work is expected to increase over the rest of the year. EBIT was positive at 48.6 million euro (47.2 million euro in the year-earlier period) with an overall Return on Sales of 8.4% (7.7%). The result reflected positive contributions from the Construction sector for 35.0 million euro (RoS 10.6%), Concessions for 15.3 million euro (RoS 35.5%), Plant for 7.0 million euro (RoS 3.4%). Financial operations and equity investments generated a net charge of 15.9 million euro in the first quarter, compared with a net gain of 3.3 million euro in the year-earlier period.
