Parsons recognized for exceptional quality on large highway projects

Parsons announced that it has received several awards, along with its partners, from the National Partnership for Highway Quality (NPHQ) for exceptional quality on large highway projects. Parsons, joint-ventured with Kiewit Construction, received the 2007 National Achievement Award for the Transportation Expansion Project (T-REX) in Colorado, in which the use of the design-build process and a comprehensive quality assurance plan enabled the $1.67 billion project to be completed 19 months ahead of schedule.

Parsons, Granite McCrossan, HNTB Corporation, and Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. won this same award for the I-494 Design-Build Reconstruction in Plymouth, Minnetonka, and Eden Prairie, Minnesota; where the design-build process was also used, reducing the project schedule by one year.

The state winners for this prestigious award included the Illinois Department of Transportation for the Parsons-designed Interstate 74 Upgrade in Peoria, Illinois; and the New Mexico Department of Transportation for the Parsons-designed Coors and I-40 Interchange Reconstruction using the design-build process.
