FCC builds power plant in Germany

Spanish construction firm Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas SA (FCC), via its Austrian subsidiary Alpine, will build a 1,600 MW coal-fired power plant in the German city of Hamm (Westphalia) for RWE Power AG. The contract is worth 135 million euro.

The project includes earth movement, foundations, and building two blocks of the new plant plus a number of additional buildings. The plant is scheduled to be fully operational in 2012.
