| Acciona gets hospital contract in Canada One of Spain's largest contractors, Acciona Infrastructure has won a 30-year contract for the Royal Jubilee Hospital, in the Canadian city of Victoria, capital of British Columbia; it is the first Spanish company to embark on a public-private partnership in Canada. This is also Acciona's first concession in the country, which is one of the key markets in the company's international strategy. Total investment in the 500-bed hospital, which will span over 35,000 square meters of floor space, could exceed 300 million Canadian dollars (190 million euro). This concession will enable the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA), which awarded the contract, to outsource the hospital's design, construction, financing and management, while focusing its own efforts on medical assistance. ISL Health, the consortium led by Acciona, also includes consultants Health Care Projects Canada Ltd., construction firm Lark Group, and investment group Innisfree Ltd. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Construction News :: home page |
