| Amec acquires mining consultancy in the US London-based Amec has acquired the assets of Smith Williams Consultants, Inc. (SWC). SWC is a US-based, 36-person, civil, geotechnical, water resources and construction engineering firm primarily serving the mining sector. It is headquartered in a major US centre for mining -Denver, Colorado- and has a satellite office in Elko, Nevada, another mining-centric location. SWC has worked on more than 140 mining engineering projects on five continents.
