Building Maintenance & Asset Management Expo Asia

After it was first announced a few months ago, Building Maintenance & Asset Management Expo Asia 2008 -Asia's premier trade exhibition and conference for the building maintenance and asset/facility management industry -has already attracted high level of participation interests. International companies such as Carrier, ABB, Sodexo, ISS Facility Services, Property Care Services, TOA Group, as well as leading companies from Singapore, Korea, Australia, etc. have either confirmed or reserved their participation. In fact, exhibition space is now over 50% booked and the event is well on track for a successful launch in Bangkok on 25th - 26th September 2008.

The high level of interests reflects the industry's growing interest in the Asian market, particularly in Thailand. Bangkok has one of the fastest expansion rates in the world for construction of high rise buildings and real estate developments. The city's main business districts, residential, commercial and industrial areas are continuously expanding. It has a registered number of over 1,000 skyscrapers and this does not include hundreds of new building projects on stream in coming years.

Bangkok is home to over 170 hospitals, 15 world-class shopping malls, more than 800 condominiums and private apartment buildings, and hundreds of hotels/resorts catering to 15 million tourist arrivals each year. Within Greater Bangkok, there are over 8 large industrial estates with a wide range of manufacturing facilities. Additionally, the city is a key regional MICE destination with over 250,000 sqm of exhibition and convention facilities. One such facility recently outsourced its facility management service worth over 30 million baht per annum.

A highly informative conference is also being planned to be alongside the exhibition. The event's Advisory Committee panel comprising key industry players agreed that the conference will revolve around the Green Technology/Green Building and Cost Savings themes with educational workshop subjects such as "Initial steps to facility management", "New technologies for facility management", "Saving the environment, saving your money", etc.

Building Maintenance and Asset Management Expo Asia 2008 is expected to attract over 300 exhibitors and attended by over 3,000 key engineering decision makers, maintenance professionals and building and facility owners from across Asia.
