| Taylor Wimpey reports drop in profits Taylor Wimpey, Britain's biggest housebuilder, said pre-exceptional profit before tax fell to £535.6m in the year to end December from £776.5m last year on revenue of £5.89bn compared with £6.72bn previously. After the impact of exceptional items, particularly land and work in progress write downs in the US, loss before tax was £19.5m (2006: profit before tax of £405.6m). The group said it continues to anticipate a more difficult trading environment in the UK and does not expect market conditions in the US to improve significantly during 2008. The full year dividend increased by 6.8% to 15.75p. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Construction News :: home page |
