Black & Veatch promotes two executives in its energy business

Overland Park-based Black & Veatch announced the promotion of two executives, Jim Hengel and Mark Amick, in the company's energy business. Hengel has been named Senior Vice President and Senior Project Director. Mark Amick has been named Vice President and Sales Director for the company's Americas region.

Hengel has more than 31 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry, beginning his career as a design chemical engineer with Black & Veatch in 1976. Prior to being named Senior Project Director, Hengel was a Project Director for the company's coal business line. Hengel received a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1975.

Amick joined Black & Veatch in 2001 as a project manager and has more than 23 years of energy industry experience. Prior to being named Sales Director for the America's region, he was the Business Development Manager for the company's Air Quality Control Systems business line. Amick received his bachelor of science in nuclear engineering from Iowa State University in 1984, a masters of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California – Berkley in 1988, and his MBA from Boston University in 1996.
