Vinci, Eiffage win contract in Marseille

The Marseille Provence Metropolis Urban Community has selected the consortium led by Vinci Concessions (58.5%) in partnership with Eiffage (41.5%) for the contract for the Prado Sud tunnel concession in Marseille.

The concession duration is 46 years, including the design and build period for the structure. The tunnel, some 1.5km in length, will be an extension to the Prado Carénage tunnel, and will link the A50 motorway to the local road network at Avenue du Prado 2 and Boulevard Michelet. The tunnel should begin operating in spring 2013.

The total investment amount is €193 million, of which €146 million will be devoted to the studies and works stages. Financing will be through a toll paid by customers to the Prado Sud company, which will be the concession-holder.
