| Zumtobel Group Award exhibition opens in Vienna In the presence of some 200 guests from the fields of business and architecture, Andreas Ludwig, CEO of the Zumtobel international lighting group, opened an exhibition of concepts of sustainable architecture. A sequel to the Zumtobel Group Award that was first presented in September 2007, this travelling exhibition currently hosted by the Zumtobel Light Forum in Vienna portrays the award-winning projects in the categories "Built Environment" and "Research & Initiative". Along with the two prizewinners – the San Francisco Federal Building by Pritzker laureate Thom Mayne and the Solar Updraft Tower by Schlaich Bergermann Solar – the exhibition also presents a detailed review of the eight projects awarded an honourable mention by the jury. The exhibition is sponsored by Raiffeisen Zentralbank (RZB). The RZB Group ranks among Austria's leading suppliers of financing for climate care projects. The travelling exhibition will remain on show at the Zumtobel Light Forum in Vienna, Jasomirgottstrasse 3-5, until 29 February 2008. The exhibition first opened in November in Dornbirn, Austria, where the Zumtobel Group is based. Future locations will include Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin and the Zumtobel Light Centres in London, Rome, New York and Sydney, as well as the Thorn Academy of Light in Spennymoor, England. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Construction News :: home page |
